Why I like this book: SO creative! I love books that play with words, and this book not only plays with their sounds, but the graphic forms of the words as well. Each spread contains a hole that transforms words from one page to the next, and also the illustration. The wordplay does restrict the text though, resulting in a story that doesn’t sing as you might hope. But the fun of the holes definitely makes it worth spending some time exploring its pages.

Such a creative choice. I love the idea of word play. Glad there is a teacher’s guide.
